I'm REALLY sorry about the huge file size.

Yay. It's a tutorial on how to color eyes, using the main character (Mariko, the middle character) from THIS image : [link] Mariko is :iconkunou:'s character.

Some of my friends asked for this, so that's why I did it. I really wouldn't have if they hadn't asked :/ I don't really think my way of coloring eyes is all that developed/fleshed out. But whatever.

Anyways, I thought this was going to be pretty good and go really in-depth because I took so many screenshots, but I actually forgot to screencap some things. ^^; Sorry. My explanations are really weird though so feel free to comment here with any questions you have. Oh, and this isn’t the only eye coloring style I have. Thanks for reading, and I hope you learn something from this! ^_^

EDIT: Argh. I saved over the .psd file so I the text I was going to move got cut off slightly (but no words got cut off), and...yeah. *sigh* And I forgot the legal stuff too.

The way you do eyes is very pretty! This is a cool tutorial, and it's a shame I'm horrible and doing anything but what I already do. I may still try it, though! Looks easy enough to get the hang of... I think. Thanks!!

Ahw! I love your technique.. So this is how you make your eyes so pretty and jewel-like! I've always wondered how you always gave them that 3D quality. Smudging the inside layer of the iris is something I had never thought of. Thanks for sharing that with us! XD

But I don't think it was hard to understand at all! The pictures and your tutorial were easy to follow and understand, and I don't even have Photoshop. I'll have to use this technique when I use the GIMP though, it looks like fun~

You really ought to make a full blown tutorial one day! Do that for us, all riight..? :D

XD Thanks ^^ I'm glad it was clear, I'm always worried about that...I tend to get pretty wordy sometimes o_o;

XD A full tutorial? Nah. My CG style morphs every time I do a new picture. Maybe someday, when I get to be a faster CGer and my style is more cemented.

On the first steps, up to step 7, I do that. After that, I'm going to use your style on LuigiUser's pic! I want to try something new, so I'll do this! I understood the steps, so no worries! You do the iris prettier~
By the way, you use masks? I don't know how to use those. XD But I can work another way. Thanks!

Well, I think CS doesn't have that feature you're using. I remember I used to see those bent arrows on the layers in 7.

it's on the tool window. Go to the bottom, where you'll see two rectangles with circles in them.
